Miscellaneous Setup Tutorial

The user can set several (unrelated) miscellaneous parameters which are grouped in the 'Miscellaneous Setup' group. The group determines the use of the view navigation progress monitor, sound beeps, directions and photo magnification.

Tutorial 6.1: Working with the Miscellaneous Setup

  • Step 1. Tap 'More' to reach the Setup menu.
  • Step 2. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous Setup group and touch any of the items in this group to reach the Miscellaneous menu.
  • Step 3. Toggle the first ON/OFF switch to activate or deactivate the view navigation progress monitor.
  • Step 4. RotoView uses sound beeps to notify navigation entry and exit events. It also uses other sound beeps to indicate that the screen view reaches the boundary of the virtual view. Use the Sound Setting segmented switch to select your preference.
  • Step 5. When you tilt the device in one direction, there are two possibilities to move the screen. In the default setting, the view moves in the same direction that you tilt the device, resulting in a mirror style. However, our research showed that some persons are anticipating the view to move in the opposite direction of the tilt, like looking via a window, hence the alternate window style. Take your pick.
  • Step 6. In the default setting any small photo opened by this app is magnified automatically. You can disable the automatic magnification in this menu.
  • Step 7. Tap the top RotoView button to return to the main RotoView screen.

Setup Files Management

The Setup Files and Default group enables you to save and restore up to three setup files with your own customized navigation profiles. In the next tutorial we also show you how to restore the default settings.

Tutorial 6.2: Using Setup Files and Restoring RotoView Default

Setup files and default enable the user to store and retrieve various profiles. There are three user-defined setup files. Selection setup default will return RotoView setup to its default state.
  • Step 1. Tap 'More' to reach the Setup menu.
  • Step 2. Scroll down to the Setup Files and Default group.
  • Step 3. Tap the 'Setup files' to save or restore your special navigation profiles.
  • Step 4. Tap the 'Setup default' to reach the Setup Default alert.
  • Step 5. Tap the Set to Default to return RotoView to its default settings.
  • Step 6. Tap the top RotoView button to return to the main RotoView screen.
