Manual Navigation Tutorial

The RotoView app includes an optional bottom tool bar with four arrow keys to perform manual view navigation. Most users will not need this, so in the RotoView default state this feature is turned off. Manual view navigation is used for demonstration purposes and possible emulation of older generations of smartphones that were not equipped with touch screens. The manual view navigation setup determines the number of pixels by which the view is scrolled when the user touches an arrow, and the button press repeat rate.

Tutorial 5.1: Enabling Manual Navigation

• Step 1. Tap 'More' to reach the Setup menu.
• Step 2. Scroll down to the Manual Navigation group and touch any of the items in this group to reach the Manual Nav menu.
• Step 3. Select the ON/OFF switch to activate the manual navigation option. You can change the View movement (in pixels) per each button click, or the button repeat rate. In this example all arrows move the display by 18 pixels each time they are touched. Touching and holding the arrow will repeat a movement of 18 pixels every 140mS in the direction of the arrow.
• Step 4. Tap the top RotoView button to return to the main RotoView screen.
• Step 5. Start view navigation and notice that the top left button changes from the 'undo' arrow to a triangle shape once you exit view navigation mode. You can use the top left triangular button to turn on the optional set of arrows at the bottom used for manual navigation. You can press it again to remove the manual navigation arrows.
• Step 6. Use the arrow buttons to demonstrate view navigation. When activating RotoView (using a shake or touch), the arrow buttons will be removed until the end of RotoView navigation.
